After making commendable contribution and ably guiding the affairs of the Foundation as its first Chairman, Dr Bimal Jalan has decided to step down as the Chairman of PIF. He would however, remain a Member of the Governing Council of PIF.

Sri Naresh Chandra who has been a founder Member of the Foundation has been elected the new Chairman of the PIF. Sri Naresh Chandra, has served as Cabinet Secretary, senior Advisor to PM, Governor of Gujarat and Ambassador to USA. He is also a recipient of prestigious Padma Vibhushan award for his distinguished and eminent services.

Consequent upon his appointment as Member of Planning Commission of India, Sri Arun Maira has ceased to be a Member of the PIF Governing Council.
